3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is not engaging with their students. My child was a special ed student here. High functioning autism. There was a bullying incident that occurred here that was swept under the rug and not resolved. This caused my child to become severely depressed. Very long story short, due to this incident, my child was having a hard time in school. The Special Ed department did not make the effort to find ways to help him. They kept asking ME to find something that worked for him and when I did, they would not follow up on their end. The resource room was too noisy for him to concentrate (he has ADHD and Asperger's) so they sat him in the hallway. They did not suggest anything for his IEP to help him move forward in his studies. I knew he wasn't doing well in his studies, and they kept making him taking online classes. So he sat in study halls for hours at a time (with ADHD mind you) or had to have me help him at home (so now I'm doing the teacher's job). I knew he wasn't passing some of his classes, but I was always told he could do them in the summer, or add them in the following year, etc. Here's the kicker. At his last IEP meeting, I was told he needed 3 years of school to graduate (he was a JR in HS) and that it would be best if he DROP OUT OF HIGH SCHOOL AND GET HIS GED!!!!He is a special ed student, a Jr, so he doesn't even have all the education he needs to even take Sr level testing for a GED. He was just a problem for them, and they didn't want to deal any more. Avoid this school if you can. I think the numbers say it all!Parent Review1mo ago - West Fargo Sheyenne High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is amazing - My son always says he loves his Science teacher - that she relates to the students in a way that help them connect to the material. It really helps to have a good staff in todays ever changing teen society.Parent Review10y ago - Osgood Kindergarten Center

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is on an IEP and it was never followed. Even after numerous meetings with the teacher, counselor, principal, etc promising things would change and get better for her, there was never any follow through. I agree with everyone else's statement regarding the principal. She is all for the TEACHERS and doesn't care about the PARENTS at all, she does a nice job of pretending to! My daughter supposedly had one of the best structured teachers, and it was horrible trying to work with her. Everyone who works in that school is so judgmental and fake. I would NEVER take my child there , especially if they had learning disabilities!Parent Review5y ago - Freedom Elem School

"Love the established trees, quiet neighborhood, friendly neighbors, nice yards, close to shopping, restaurants, and home improvement. I would stay if I had a choice but my situation calls for me to move. Anyone who moves here would love it. It has a small town atmosphere yet it is a small city. "

"Peaceful and friendly. A safer neighborhood to live in. Seems more like a small town atmosphere. People actually smile and wave. "

"Everyone here seems to be animal lovers. You see lots of dog walkers, yet it’s quiet. I have never seen any problems with dogs or owners. And any animal that comes up missing is quickly posted in Next Door, or is it the Neighborhood app. LOL I can never remember the name. But I read it most days. "

"My neighborhood has very friendly people and they are all so accepting and helpful! One time though, my dog got loose and was barking at another dog, I could swear the other dog was about to attack my dog and the lady kept saying she was going to call the police on my dog! Ridiculous!"

"We’re a little bit off the beaten path. There is a bus that comes out really that can take us to West acres, otherwise we have to use Senior transit and that is overbooked and off and there’s a two week waiting period so often times we have to miss doctors appointments. The construction is a nightmare on Sheyenne ....Trying to get to I 94 and then that suicide during regular rush-hour traffic in the morning and in the evening… So we could use improvement."

"We've lived East of the West Fargo High School for 17 years & couldn't ask for a better neighborhood and proximity to just about anything you would want and still feel like you live in a quiet residential area. We are within a 2 - 5 min drive of: 2 large grocery stores, Walmart Super Center, Sam's, Target, West Acres mall, several clinics, multitude of banks, Lowes, Home Depot, Menards, an Animal Hospital/Vet, several liquor stores, convenience stores, just about every fast food chain available, and restaurants covering every ethic group and quality imaginable, as well as 2 major cinema-plexes, and several "night-life" attractions. The quality of teachers from K-12 is AWESOME, Park District recreational programs are year-round, 2 parks nearby, and, bless them, the sanitation department picks up just about anything you put out, and even lays out the empty cans in such a way that the never-ending wind is less likely to blow them down the street! If we do have anything hazardous, the facility is less than 2 miles from here on a major thoroughfare, where, by the way, you can stop next door and pickup/drop off compost for free. There is very little turn-over of neighbors in my area, so we know most everyone on our street. Love my neighborhood!"
