4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has a fairly supportive community; some of them try to strongarm staff for their kids if things do not go their way but most do good things for the school. It is sad that so many great teachers have left, the school has lost too many teachers in every department/grade and coaches/sponsors (three athletic directors in three years and three math teachers in one class in a year and both music teachers have changed over in the past year). Last year seventh grade had at least half of their teachers leave in the middle of the year. GCS can do better than this - we can make this school great again!Other Review3y ago - Wilton Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWilton has consistently outperformed its neighboring schools. The school puts a heavy focus on character building not just academics. Having come from a Wake county school and seen the differences, Wilton creates an environment that feels like a small neighborhood school. Activities like collecting food for the food bank, angel trees at Christmas, or sending Valentines to troops overseas; works to build the student's heart not just their mind.Administration knows every kid's name and you feel like part of a community. The biggest challenge is the school's sudden-rapid growth due to a another county school closing and they received a big influx of kids...as did all the neighboring schools. I think the Wilton staff has handled it extremely well and continues to put the kids first in all they do.Parent Review2mo ago - South Granville High School

"People walk their dogs and for the most part, they’re responsible for the pet’s waste. Unfortunately, people are less tolerable of middle school age children and high schoolers simply being kids. "
- PegH

"A real sense of community. We all look out for each other; never is it as obvious as when the last bad storm came through. Everyone was out the next morning helping to clean up tree limbs and leaves from the entire cut-de-sac, not just their own yard, sharing tools, equipment and man power. "

"A bit of traffic around 4:00 to 6:00pm. My neighborhood is gated and has a very nice, exclusive Country Club. My neighborhood has it’s very own private security service and they constantly patrol the neighborhood."

"This is a good neighborhood to raise children. The only concern I would have as a parent of a teenager would be them learning to drive in heavy traffic"

"There are quite a few dog owners in my neighborhood. Most are responsible owners, but there are those that walk their dogs at night and allow them to relieve themselves in their neighbors yards. This is the part I dislike. I sit on my porch at night and you wouldn’t believe the things I see dog owners allow their dogs to do."

"Dog parks are everywhere and it’s easy to get to trails and green areas but please clean up after your dogs "
- Tenaye13
- Resident

"It’s peaceful to walk your dog for the most part. However, there have been 2 occasions that 2 different dogs broke from the owner’s chain to get to other dogs. My dog was attacked by a pit bull who did just that. After watching a second dog break away from it’s owner, I no longer feel safe walking my dog during busy hours of the day. "
- Annaliza S.
- Resident

"People walk their dogs day and night and always say “Hello” as they pass by. Dog walkers are very good about keeping their dogs on a leash as they walk them."
- Nat
- Resident

"It’s pet friendly. The biggest problem is getting blamed for other dogs’ mess. There are also a decent number of cars so dogs can’t run freely without a fenced in yard. However, there are a lot of houses with fenced in yards"
