7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are thinking about moving to the area and you are zoned for this school, RUN as fast as you can and stay away. It is truly unbelievable how unorganized this school is when it comes to procedures and ensuring the overall well being of the children. Ensuring that a child is aware of when assignments are due as well as what is being taught should be a priority. Not here. My son attended this school and I never knew what they were working on, or what to study with him. I asked 8 times to 4 different people and the only answer I could get was “let me look into it.” Which actually means “I have no idea either, hopefully you’ll stop asking.”In our family, education is such a very high priority and my son has been on an IEP for over 5 years. In the matter of THREE weeks, they decided to remove him from his IEP. Not performing evaluations or assessing him properly per state standards. Their response to this was that he was doing better than other students so they felt he didn’t need it anymore. The reason he was doing well was BECAUSE of his IEP. There is a reason this school is rated poorly and I completely understand why now. We have since transferred to a Charter school in the area, THANK GOD. I’m going to pray for the families that unfortunately have to attend this “school”. I will pray that the population stays low here so they cannot regress too many children in our community. I wish I would have listened to the several of mothers that told me to run, not walk when they knew we where we were going to attend.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 115 Powell Dr.

"Well this neighborhood has paved streets and most people exercise around the block everyday. Only a few people walk a animal here. "

"It’s a brand new subdivision with very nice neighbors. It’s also very peaceful and serene. It’s not too far from the Smithfield Outlets and has an old fashioned, small town, tight knit community feel to it."

"I live in this area, and I haven't had any problems as far as crime or vandalism go, but there is a lot of foot traffic coming in and out of the neighborhood, and many of the travelers are inebriated and talkative! Also, the probation administration is within 100 yards, so I do worry about the kind of people passing through. On the positive side, there is a lovely local grocery store, Edwards IGA, very close by, as well as a Pizza Hut and a Domino's within easy walking distance (less than 5 min). The rent in this area is below what is normal for this city, but beware of the utility bill...ours was over $350 a month in the winter, which was over half of what we pay in rent, and we are VERY careful about not wasting electricity or water!"
