N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter attended Saint Martin North from k-5 through third grade. She loved it there, she maintained STRAIGHT A's the whole time she was there. I thank the St Martin public school system for giving my baby a passion for learning, and a drive to succeed!! She now attends Saint Martin Upper and is having the same great experience. Next year she'll be at Saint Martin Middle and she's already looking forward to it!! I can't say enough good things about Saint Martin schools!!! FIVE STARS!!!!Parent Review1y ago - St. Martin Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is not a friendly or educated environment to be in. I thought we did enough research on this school and it is the reason we bought the house that we did. We scheduled an tour so we could view the teachers and school before sending our child here. Appearances can be so deceiving unfortunately. Our child has had nothing but issues with this school to the point that we dis-enrolled her and found a private school for her to attend. We have never felt the need to do this before in any other school district and where proud supporters of the public schools, they need it, but we could not keep sending our child to this school. First day of school, a teacher called a student an idiot in front of the entire classroom bc they put something away incorrectly. A teacher, who is supposed to be supportive and encouraging. Same said teacher would blow whistles at students loudly, would not allow them to talk during their free lunch period, and had so many grammar & spelling errors when sending letters to parents it was frightening to believe this was the person responsible for the education of our child. The teachers were constantly putting videos on instead of teaching. It is one thing to watch a video then explain/lecture about the topic, but they did not do that here, it was just letting the video be the teacher. They told students to install apps that required parental permission to make an account...without informing nor requesting permission from the parents. They did not help the students excel by any means, their advanced class was told that there is not allowed to be more than 10 children in the class even though there was room for it. There Covid response is abysmal and was running rampant in the school. The district had guidelines in place for cleaning & social distancing that this school did not enforce. There was a known teacher who had been in close contact with a positive case still in class in teaching and of course a day later that teacher caught it. You can not get a hold of anyone in the office, they do not answer the phones. They marked our child as absent on a day she was there and refused to change it in their systems. I could go on and I kid you not this all took place within 10 days. I have never seen my child come home so miserable and have such a strong feeling of not wanting to go to school. If you value education do not send your child to this school.Parent Review2y ago - St Martin High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is a 5th grader at SMUE, and he really enjoys going to school. They have fun social gatherings such as dances and pizza parties. The teachers and faculty are professional and friendly. The gifted program, "Wings" allows my son to explore STEM more deeply once a week. Other than Wings, my son doesn't seem as challenged as I would like for him to be. One issue I have with the Jackson County School District is the extreme emphasis on sports, and not enough emphasis on academics. Because of a lack of adequate state funding, the students at SMUE must share text books, which means they cannot take them home. There is very little homework ( I wish there was more). There is no foreign language instruction or band. But overall, my son is happy and enjoys school, and that is important. If I stay in the Mississippi Gulf Coast area, I will try to get into the Ocean Springs School District which is better funded and has a great reputation.Parent Review6y ago - St Martin East Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSo how can a school call you to ask you to uninroll your child after all most a month because his birthday is 2 days late St Martin East Elementary School it was your mistake and now my child is upset and no one at @st martin school district will answer the phone I am disgusted with the way the school has handle it and the teacher sending a note and all it said was to set up a time pick up his stuffParent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 2508 Gladiolus St #A.
