The school does not engage respectfully with parents, starting from the front desk receptionist being rude and judgmental towards parents if she acknowledges you at all. The school lets student behavioral issues slide, including aggression and violence against other students, and students seem to have no consequences. The school does not work together with parents and if you try to reach out with a concern, you are going to get a copy/paste answer where they don't acknowledge what is going on, avoid blame, and claim they can't engage in the conversation due to student privacy. The test scores have bottomed out. Columbia Heights test scores are higher than ours now. And they are trying to hide that fact from parents rather than engaging in community dialogue to help improve the school. There are a few good teachers but the rest are not properly trained. They don't listen or care about the students. Don't even get me started on the wifi. It breaks down every day multiple times. This school is so trashy and broke and does not live up to any expectations. Also, my child says that there are always so many disruptions over the loudspeakers over the day.
