1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average*Special Need Parents**My child attended Fisher Lower Magnet for a year and a half. I removed my child on February 6 due catching a special needs teacher name Mark M. yelling at my child saying he's lazy, sorry and much more. An immediate investigation was initiated but no update has been made. I do suggest every parent of a Special needs child get Angel Sense and pin it to your child to ensure their safetyParent Review1mo ago - Fisher Magnet Upper Academy

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is the worst very very poor Administrative. My child have a learning disability resource is suppose to come get her a hour out of every class to help NO do, teachers would call her in front of class to do the work in when she can’t class laughs at her. My baby Literally cried for a week straight not to go to school before she told me what was wrong. I have been to the school a billion times about peers bulling her and I was just blow off. I took my daughter out of that school and I strongly recommend you do the same..Parent Review6y ago - Denby High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDenby is located in the 48205 zip code, which the Detroit News deemed Michigan s Deadliest Zip Code. The majority of our students live in the 48205 and 48234 zip codes. Over the last 15 years this area has been one of the hardest hit in the country. Many of the students served by Denby come from an impoverished background. It has the highest number of abandoned structures, the highest parole and probation rate, a very high unemployment rate and is plagued by high illiteracy rates. These conditions normally result in high dropout rates. Denby has done a great job of supporting students and families with wrap around services to address the many issues facing the students. They do a great job of creating a family atmosphere to support students. Their college advisor does a great job of exposing students to post-secondary opportunities. They have also created many student led auxiliaries and clubs that students are engaged in. They, like all other Detroit area schools, are focusing on raising academics and attendance. Denby however, recognizes that you must also address the conditions that hinder academic success. These are some of the major reasons why Denby is a GREAT SCHOOL!Other Review9y ago - Check out schools near 16103 Bringard Dr.

"There are multiple schools in the area and access to public transportation. However, just like any neighborhood you must stay aware of your surroundings. Also the police do not come to this area in a timely fashion if needed. Overall it’s not that bad of an area to live in. "
