6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDon't come to this school. The kids run and play everyday. There are no consequences for foul language or disrespectful behavior. The admin sit on their hands and hope problems will just go away. if you are a teacher looking for a job, don't apply here. It's terrible. They will find ways to shift blame unto you instead of disciplining students. We have people in leadership positions who receive 6 figure salaries. It's all a waste of tax payer money.Parent Review3mo ago - Maryvale Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy oldest daughter who’s now in Highschool (11th grade) went to Maryvale Elementary, and it laid the foundation of academic discipline for her to excel throughout the years. She’s now taking AP courses and is enrolled in Montgomery College dual enrollment program. My youngest is in her last year at Maryvale as of 2021. It’s been an amazing experience for her as well. The French immersion program is fantastic. Kudos to all the wonderful teachers and staff and special shout-out to Mrs. Prin, Principal, and Mr Bowerman, Vice Principal. They are simply exceptional leaders who truly care and they certainly shone bright throughout the pandemic with their unwavering support and availability. The Maryvale family has been great to my daughters. If you’re considering this school, I highly recommend it.Parent Review2y ago - Rockville High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a parent that has had both a daughter and son graduate from RHS. Our experience was an excellent one. Both our kids were in the IB program and got a tremendous high school education. My son also was in the project lead-the-way engineering program. Our daughter went to Maryland and graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with a 3.9 gpa and she told me repeatedly that RHS instruction was better and the classes harder than what she often encountered in college. My son got accepted to UCLA's elite engineering program and is a sophomore doing very well after one year. The social culture is very inclusive at RHS. The kids seem to really enjoy the diversity. The homecoming queen and king are never the good looking kids but rather the nice people everyone likes and looks up to. Very refreshing.Except for maybe basketball, if a kid tries out for a school team, they're on the team. The amount they play may be limited at first, but they'll get to participate and make the friends and connections being on their school team provides. Both my kids were on multiple school teams. The school spirit is through the roof. The quality of the counselling staff and help for special needs kids are first rate.In the neighborhood we live in, a lot of parents sent their kids to private schools, like Good Council. Perhaps they were somehow turned off by the diversity at RHS, if you know what I mean. I could tell that their kids didn't get either the quality education or social experiences my kids got, plus its free to send you kid to public school. We have a very good high school available to us at RHS. Take advantage of it.Parent Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 403 Crabb Ave.

"My family lived at 511 Crabb Ave. They bought it the summer of 1954. It was 2 beds with one bath. We had a lot of fun with all the kids on our street. There was a neighborhood elementary school, Maryvale, we walked 2 blocks to the school and in good weather walked home for lunch. I attended Richard Montgomery High School. The metro did not exist at that time. "

"This neighborhood is definitely a very dog friendly place! While I don’t personally have a dog, I see at least 20 dogs go by outside my window every day walking down to Welsh Park. There is a large open field where dogs can run around so many people bring them there. It is also just a neighborhood where a lot of people walk around because there are paths and things like that in Welsh Park as well. "
