This home is in the heart of Newton Centre, close to Crystal Lake, the T, Whole Foods and Mason-Rice elementary school. This is one of Newton’s perennially most-coveted neighborhoods, with excellent walkability scores, convenient to shopping, dining & parks. The Newton Highlands village is also less than a mile away, offering another T station, shopping and restaurant options. The welcoming foyer opens to a spacious living room with a fireplace. Off the living room is a cozy dining room that leads to the kitchen. The kitchen has a door to the enclosed porch with steps to the surprisingly large & level fenced backyard. A hallway leads to the first bedroom and updated full bathroom. On the top floor is a nice sitting room and the second bedroom. The unfinished basement houses the systems, laundry and provides ample storage. There is an attached one car garage. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious end user looking for a smaller home or potential development in prime location.

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePossibly the worst school in MA for the COVID response, as it is still going on. So many teachers are absent every day. Up to 45 teachers are absence each day, some for weeks at a time. Actually disgraceful. Some teachers are good, and they care. But there seems to be no rules for how many days teachers can be absent (and this is over 3 years). Some classes also dont teach content related to the class, but rather social issuesParent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1042 Beacon St.

"Close knit community, close to T station and vibrant city center that is really convenient for all. "

"Newton Centre combines the best or urban and suburban living. Eminently walkable, with a huge variety of shops and restaurants a quick stroll away and a subway stop at its heart, the neighborhood invites you to leave your car in the garage you probably have and complete your errands on foot. Parks and recreational facilities, including a large lake with a public beach, are within the neighborhood’s bounds. When you need to get somewhere by car, you’re quickly connected to two major highways and only minutes from downtown Boston and Logan Airport, but the minute you return home, you’ll hear crickets chirping and children playing and struggle to believe that your tree-lined street is so close to such a major city and its associated environment.
