Bogastow Farm is a 64.19-acre working sheep farm along Bogastow Brook in the northern part of Millis near the Sherborn line. The farm was assembled between 1953 & 1970 & has been owned by the same family since that time. In 1978, the family conveyed a conservation restriction to The Trustees of Reservations that encumbers most of the property except an area around the main house & an additional 1 acre building envelope; nearly all the land is enrolled in Chapter 61A. The site is partially cleared & includes some land in blueberry cultivation. There are wetlands around the perimeter of the site & topography is flat to gently rolling. Approximately 32.12 acres are designated Prime Farmland Soils. Structures include c.1693 main house, barn, two cottages, & other ancillary farm buildings. The family is seeking the next steward and is required by the terms of the will to “attempt to sell the property as a single parcel to a buyer who appears to value it for its agricultural potential”.
