The school is not diverse at all. When my child was in K1 another student made a remark about the color of her skin. Another incident occurred in 3rd and 4th grade. The teaching of the 7 habits is a good tool but it was not always effective. Representation matters !!!! If you are teaching the youth about showing compassion toward people of all races then they should be able to see that in school. Not just as peers but also as teacher and as a administrator.

Good principals are hard to find... The Horace Mann Community "lucked out" with Dr.Cobbs. She sets the tone and character of the school with her personality: warm, loving and involved in her students' efforts to negotiate every day life. Attitude means everything to students and her's is the best. Melrose, don't lose this one.Grandpa.

I LOVED that my kid got to Go to Lincoln School for Kindergarten - I feel that we Could NOT have asked for a better experience than this School! Wish we could take the School with us when we move away. D=

to be honest this school lacks in lots of things but out of all of that it builds character school isn't supposed to be what you want your not paying for it If you send your kid there they'll have an experience that makes them a better person who cares about AP classes? there a waste of time and Melrose is a safe place so uhh send your kid

Remedial curriculum. My nieces in Winchester and Reading public schools are covering far more advanced materials in the same grade.

My two boys attend this school and I can't be happier! The teachers, principal and staff are incredible and supportive. Dr. Tracy is an awesome principal who cares for every single student ! So far my kids had great teachers! Mrs. Ogiba it is out of this world!!!

I have heard nothing but positive things regarding the ECC, and my experience there has been excellent. The teachers are professional yet nurturing, they communicate with parents daily by email, and children leaving this school to go to kindergarten are incredibly well-prepared. There are many options of days and times to chose from, as well as early drop-offs and extended days. This does not have a "nursery school" feel as it is many classrooms in a two-story building, so if a child has never had any daycare or out-of-the-home experience, it could be overwhelming, depending on the child. As far as curriculum, it can't be beat. My son adored his preK teacher so much that he insisted that we name our new cat after her. We did. :)

Many teachers at this school are not teaching the students, and are looking at their phones all class. Some teachers are so lazy, they don’t teach a single thing in the class. Behavioral issues are often handled horribly at this school. In general, many (not all) teachers at this school do not do their job very well, and this affects the students who go here.
