I wish all Chelsea schools where managed the same way. My son is ready for firts grade and I can see how much he has learned over the las 3 years.Other Review7y ago - Chelsea High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHORRIBLE! I've been trying to get important documentation for my child for over a YEAR. They keep ignoring me. They don't want to see children succeed! They couldn't care less. Worst school in Massachusetts. If you want your kids to move forward in life don't expect any help from anyone there. From the principal to the counselors to the teachers. Completely USELESS.Parent Review2y ago - William A Berkowitz Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average1st grade for my daughter was a positive experience only because her teacher was a caring and compassionate person..as far as the school not pleased with my experience communication is poor basic information cannot be answered. main principle isnt approachable . so a lot of questions and concerns go unanswered. and documentation seems to get misplaced quit often wich is extremely unprofessional... documentation is very important. and the school has a very hard time following there own policy wich then falls back on the parents who are then left doing there job ...Parent Review5y ago - Edgar A Hooks Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended the Kelly School last year for the first time. I can't say enough good things about our experience, the Caminos program, and the school leadership. I knew things were going to go well early in the year, when we were sitting down at dinner and my child described how the teacher's goal for was to work on fluency...and then proceeded to give us examples of what they were working on! This sort of thing continued throughout the year and, though my child entered speaking no Spanish, they exited the year on grade level and were actually able to translate for me in limited interactions with clients -- pretty impressive! Special kudos to the teachers, who put in incredible effort over the summer to stop the "summer slide" -- they put on weekly "read with your teacher" events at the library, stayed on top of us with regular calls, and somehow had my child self managing work on a summer-long project. I am convinced that the school has its act together, and am looking forward to the upcoming year.Parent Review9y ago - Frank M Sokolowski Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm a student at the Clark Avenue Middle School. I'm currently in 7th grade as of 2012. [From a student's perspective] I've been in this school for over two years and I've never seen any crime or any violence go on during school hours. Overall, this is a great school, but it's lacking in many factors: School lunches/cafeteria: There are no trays to carry your food in. We have to use our hands to carry our milk, lunch and fruits. We used to have trays, but I guess due to budget cuts we can't have them anymore. I hate carrying my food; I can't get my ID and lunch money out in time. The lunch ladies can be rude sometimes, I've been yelled at for not getting my money out fast enough. They're always yelling for no reason. I know it's loud in the cafeteria, but it gets annoying sometimes. Teachers/staff members: I have to admit, the teachers try very hard to teach at this school. I think it's the behavioral problems of some kids that hold back the education of the other students. [That's the case for me] Honestly, I've never met a teacher at this school who didn't care about their student's education. I gave this school 3 out of 5 stars from my experience as a student.Other Review12y ago - Eugene Wright Science And Technology Academy

"Could take your dogs for a walk, not sure if parks in the area allow for dog walking. Depending where in the city you happen to be I wouldn’t recommend walking your dogs due large amounts of traffic. "

"I've lived in this neighborhood for two years and the city for three years. this neighborhood is near an elementary school and the community seem to be a bit kinder and family oriented. I love living five minutes from Market Basket and seven minutes from Whole Foods and one minute from Walgreens and CVS. Also less than 10 minute drive from Revere Beach which is nice to walk along in the warmer weather. It's a great location but home prices are rising. Only annoyance is traffic into Boston on the Tobin from 7-830am."

"I wouldn’t suggest living here at all!!! Lots of crime and local town services are awful!!! I’m moving out of here in a few weeks as I’ve absolutely been fed up with all the crime and lack of police services. I’d highly suggest avoiding Chelsea, MA."
