"Everything is convenient. Parking is east everywhere. Lots of restaurants, supermarkets, great neighborhood. "

"My commute is very short. 1.5 miles. 5 minutes if I drive. I sometimes walk. I wouldn’t have it any other way."
  • Uscdlp
"Lots of dogs walked in the neighborhood all of the time. Just make sure always sure on the leash. Very friendly neighborhood."

"The West Plaza neighborhood is simply the best. I have lived in the area for a few years, and I have always felt very safe. The streets are fairly quiet and well-light, and police cars frequently drive up and down the streets which evidently seems to keep the hoodlums away. Westwood Park is great! It has a nice trail to walk/jog around, a baseball diamond, and is very animal-friendly - there are even free dog-training classes some weekends. The Plaza is right down the street, and Westport is also a few blocks away, so you really do get the best of both worlds. The neighborhood is far enough outside of Westport that it doesn't get the noise or the crazy crowds, but close enough that you have all of the bars and restaurants right at your fingertips. The homes are well maintained (for the most part) and the neighbors are friendly. Like with everything else, there are exceptions to the rule, but overall, this neighborhood is fantastic. My only complaint about this area would probably be lack of parking. Many of the streets (including the ones I live on) only allow parking on one side of the street because they are so narrow. The rest of the streets allow parking on both sides of the street, which makes it nearly impossible for 2 cars to travel towards each other due to the narrowness of the streets. I know this is common in urban areas so it's no big deal. However, my main complaint about parking is that many of the streets that only allow parking on one side also make it 2 hour parking from midnight to 6am. This makes it very difficult to have out-of-town guests or friends stay the night, as they have nowhere to park overnight. I have had a few friends park their car on the street all night without moving it every 2 hours, and none of them have been ticketed or towed (yet), which makes me wonder why the signs even need to be posted. I understand this is a trivial complaint, but it really is my only one. Everything else about the neighborhood is GREAT!"

"Westwood is a great community! Local law enforcement very attentive. Close to Plaza, Downtown, Johnson county amenities. The metro bus stop is within walking distance, as well as grocery, restaurants and shopping. "
