5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter started at Goddard at Challenger, we were very impressed with the school. Middle school was pretty good as well, not as good as Challenger, yet still good.It seemed that when she entered high school they just quit caring. They just dropped the ball, we were not impressed at all. She had several teachers that would give out worksheets and that is it. Her photography class her teacher graded the homework on what she liked and disliked, not the composition or anything like that. If I had to do it again, we definitely would not have sent her to Goddard High School. There also is very little diversity in this school.Parent Review1y ago - Goddard Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTypical school. Kids are forced to sit still seven hours a day, five days a week. It is sad to watch children lose their love of learning. Only 30% of this school's students are meeting state standards for math. This is extra depressing considering all the unnatural and unnecessary prohibitions on play. If kids are going to fail anyways, at least ensure that they are having fun. As psychologists point out, learning is built on play. A child only learns when he is engaged, and kids are only engaged when they are having fun. Prohibiting play and talking is antithetical to learning. This school's primary method of teaching relies on boring lectures. Please, for the sake of these kids, teach primarily by collaboration and socialization. (Most homeschoolers are better socialized than these kids, because homeschoolers are allowed to talk to each other.) Remember, the kids are the customers, not the products. Teach according to their nature (incorporate play into every lesson) and the test scores will rise. Read John Holt's Underachieving School for ideas. The problem with this school is not that it is worse than others, but that it is just like others.Other Review2y ago - Check out schools near 223 N Cedar St.

"it can be annoying at high traffic times with the stoplights on the way to Wichita, but most of the time it's a short and pleasant commute"

"There’s definitely a lot of dog owners is this area. Every house is fenced. Some people do not pick up after their dogs while walking them. Overall, it’s a great pet community, especially with all the sidewalks. "

"We've just moved here and really are happy with the move. Our neighbors are so friendly and everyone takes wonderful care of their homes and yards."

"I love my Goddard!! Close enough to Wichita to take advantage of the bigger city yet far enough away to enjoy less traffic and peace and quiet....a little bit of country with a touch of city.... "

"I've lived in Goddard for 10 years and it is the best place to live! You have everything here. The schools are great both public schools and private schools. They built a WALMART here in Goddard and they are building more businesses. Its a peaceful and safe environment, great for families or retirees or anyone! Goddard has easy and fast access to the city. "

"This has been one of the nicest communities I've lived in. I've been in upscale areas in Orange County, CA and the nice suburbs of Virginia ... I don't think they compare. Property Taxes are a bit on the high side, but since property is so much less expensive anyhow, it's not that much of an impact. Great place to live!!"
