5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis School is terrible as a student here I feel that this school is not a safe place for minorities witch many I am a part of and do not try to help those who are in need and I do not feel like that I would be safe here without loads of protection and it. makes be scared to be myself.Other Review2y ago - Minooka Jr High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was a former student here, and I would like to say that the teachers here are very noteworthy. They all feel like their own people with very fleshed-out personalities and that greatly contributed to creating an engaging in-class experience. Each class felt like a different territory, a new world, and I had fun with all of them, from the goofballs and the comedians to the warm and nerdy...However, I can't say anything else is super great. The school is very overcrowded, bullying runs rampant and staff does nothing to address it. I was a scrawny kid who got pushed around by jocks (literally- going to class is a fight for your life) and openly insulted. Hate circles the hallways like the wind. Fights break out weekly, and the populars (mainly boys) who think they own the place make sure that everyone KNOWS that they own the place. I felt constantly unsafe in the building. The school tries its best to offer mental/emotional support, but, in my experience, they actually just make things worse. "Confidential" information gets relayed to several people.Great teachers, awful students and no attempts to correct them.Other Review1mo ago - Walnut Trails Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI moved to Minooka for the schools. It kinda reminded me of an early Plainfield. Then plainfield became overcrowded in the schools and bussed in low income from other areas. There is a lot of favoritism in the Minooka school system and the surrounding areas as well. Worst decision I made was to move to this school district.Parent Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 1221 Callaway Dr N.

"Corn fest I guess. The better events usually take place around shorewood. This community needs more festivals. And if there are some, then they are not advertised as well. Hopefully that huge screen on rt 59 and Theodore helps. "

"Very quiet, not many kids. Good for families with older children or couples without children. Must take care of yard or will be judged. Not a place for neighborly people, many people are “ok” not becoming friendly with their neighbors. Great local bars for younger crowds. Awesome brewery near. Really good breakfast restaurants in the area! "
