1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFew months into the school year and my 12 year old granddaughter gets jumped and beat by a bunch of girls. All over a girl on the basketball team not liking the way the ball was passed to her. My granddaughter got expelled for a day for getting beat, the girls who beat her expelled 2 days. The girl who instigated it all is still on basketball team no punishment at all. What kind of school is this. Don't send your child to this school! Very disturbing watching the video of her getting beat down. She quit basketball because of this. Terrible school.Other Review2y ago - East High School

However, I have noticed that bullying is snuffed out very quickly. The only time it goes on is when students to not report it. We don't cater to the minorities. The majority of the student population is minority, possibly as high as 86%. We see no color at our school. Everyone is a human being that deserves respect. As far as field trips, that is the policy of the Des Moines Public School District. We get "1" field trip a year. The school does not make that decision. Submitted by staff.Teacher Review10y ago
