5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHolsenbeck was the school I went to when I was a kid. It was honestly the best years of my life. I am now in high school and can say I learned so many things and made many valuable memories during my years at Holsenbeck. I hope that all students, present and future, will enjoy the same wonderful experiences that I did.Other Review5mo ago - Bear Creek Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school is absolutely horrible. they ignore the students as soon as they actually have something to report on. one instance, a student was racist and racially profiling minorities when trying to talk to him. making racist comments like blatant racist remarks, such as calling the hispanic/latino students stereotypical names, foods, and overall calling them immigrants. one student was sick of it and wanted to report it to the teacher. and the teacher “its okay, he doesnt understand what he is saying”. he only had mild autism. on multiple occasions he would racially comment on asian americans, black, native american, and hispanic students. going so far to hitting them just for being that ethnicity. it was reported to a teacher but failed to be recognized and situated. on multiple occasion the physical education coaches would comment on overweight students’ weight. multiple reports of racist students were ignored. the dress code is out of this world for a public school. the teachers would yell and comment on students when not achieving average scores on tests behind closed doors. this school has multiple things to improve on. the school food is nasty, barely passing as nutritious, the pizza would be cold and cardboardy. the fruits would be kept in warm environments and vegetables as well. school milk was expired on multiple occasions in every schoolday. the teachers would give out their personal phone numbers when students would ask questions, which does NOT seem okay. bullying was not handled, students would insult each other across the room with the teacher only telling them to be quiet or nothing at all. teachers would print worksheets from online and give them out to students with no deadline. talking and assignments from anywhere was allowed on every test. every teacher had their own favorite students and some even agreed were better than others. on one occasion a teacher would mock an autistic overweight girl for how she ran and how she talked. i would not recommend this school at ALL.Student Review10mo ago - Apalachee High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEvery bad review on here is correct. If your child is a child that anything other than Caucasian expect for them to be treated differently. The principle, Jennifer Martin, had her sister-in-law working as an assistant principal at the same school. They favor any child that has a parent staff member. They make up rules as they go. This school system is a charter school system. It’s time to eliminate that….since they get their funding based off students that pass grade, they literally give students the answers to tests. Barrow county school system is a joke.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 280 Harold Day Rd.
