6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am in the Academy for science medicine and research, and they offer great help and opportunities. They have helped every second of the way making sure that I learn everything required. The teachers offer help when needed, and the students in my classes are there to learn. I have run into problems with people in my school being harsh on each other, as well as some people will look down on other students as if they were lesser than them. I have also had problems with some teachers being unjust when operating a classroom. Overall, the school is a great place to learn and grow with your peers.Student Review1y ago - Herschel Jones Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI'm currently going after school and I would not recommend this school to your child but I got in trouble for eating chips on the bus and the bus driver blamed me when everybody else was eating chips so I would not recommend this if you're taking your child also on the bus the administrator does not absolute nothing about it cuz they care about the bad kids instead of the good kids instead of all of us so I'm just not recommendStudent Review7mo ago - Allgood Elementary School

"Dogs on leash and other pets are very welcome. Also recently there have been several dog parks popping up in the neighborhoods which are not only fun for our best friends, but give their owners an opportunity to sit and rest after a busy day and chat with their neighbors if they wish."

"Depends on whether your going to work or shopping and what time of day it is. The work commute can be hairy so be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get there without taking unnecessary risks. Drive safely, you still have a lot of living to do! Hiram is what I call a “rural suburb” of Atlanta. So even though there are a lot of varied and extensive activities to enjoy in the surrounding area, it is a very short drive to many cultural and art exhibits, theatre productions and family entertainment parks like “Six Flags Over Georgia”. There is no lack of cultural, educational and yes “fun” opportunities in this area. So your commute to work could as long as 1 hour from Hiram to downtown Atlanta, or as short as 10 minutes if your lucky enough to work for the Wellstar Family Medical Practices or Facilities (for example). "The neighborhood is friendly. Some folks walk dogs, and some have their children with them. However, parents should accompany them on walks and to the parks at least until they have met a few people and learned the lay of the land. "
