6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children really like/liked cherokee high school. It’s the teachers there that make the difference. It’s diverse and more like the real world. It is next to a water treatment plant so it can get smelly there. To address the overcrowding they expanded the high school into an elementary building that was next door. So the kids do have to walk a good distance between buildings but it was a good, immediate solution to the overcrowding. When my eldest son was in 1st grade he left his coat at school one Friday afternoon. It was a 3 day weekend and we were to have very cold weather in our area. His teacher, after working ALLLL day and still having 2 elementary age kids of her own drove to our house and dropped of his coat!! Above and Beyond. My youngest who is in kindergarten come home crying his 1st day of school b/c he had an "accident". He said he was afraid to ask his teacher to go to the bathroom because she was busy with another student. I sent her a message just lettings her know what happened so she could be in the loop. She called that same afternoon and wanted to talked to him, she reassured my little guy that she's never too busy to help him and that she was so excited to have him in her class. ABOVE and BEYOND. "I use the local public transit. C.A.T.S. (Canton area transit). They have a fixed route for the city of canton. but you can schedule a ride with them for anywhere in Cherokee county. the local fixed routes are $1.25 or $.60(seniors or disabled) a ride. Not sure how much they charge for scheduled trips."

"This is a good community. I like the small home town feel. Schools are decent. I am especially please with Cherokee county School district and Cherokee High School.
