6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy Son has been blessed with the opportunity of being educated here. And it has indeed been a roller coaster ride of sorts, but whomever said High School is a walk in the park. Administration, teachers, support services, the District are very supportive, is our family's experience. Readiness... they do very well. PSAT and SAT Days... school is shut down for other classes, to facilitate that. Kids must take Personal Finance and Health at the 12th Grade level... in order to graduate. Exceptional, as many Districts and States are failing our kids by not exposing them to these BASIC, IMPORTANT concepts!! This is amazing! The School is doing a much better job of communicating with families. We are kept in the loop of what's going on, but families MUST be proactive to be sure your student is getting their best experience. As we should be!Counseling at the school level need to be shored up, but the District (need to be better communicated to families) provides amazing career resources for the HS students in the community. Job opportunities, resume, interview techniques... very professional and well-staffed. They now need to partner with Counselors at the HS Level to integrate and plan out career paths and services much better. That will help!School and District have to find a way to ensure kids get connected in school, or a student can go all the way through High school and be lost relationally, if families are not intentional to prevent that. For example, mandate a sport or a club, so students get plugged in somehow. My student experience of the school turned around entirely, once he got plugged into a functional school activity. Students need to feel like they belong. THATS SUPER IMPORTANT!But, what an amazing experience and journey it has been for our family! Shout out to Mr. Koch who has been a bedrock Assistant Principal over the many years, holding things down and supporting whomever has been at the helm!Small school, big love! Big heart. Small tweaks, it will be just as amazing as any private school!!Stratford District is BLESSED to have this school and the BOE which is quite supportive of families!Parent Review1y ago - Harry B. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt seems that there is no leader in this school. It was a very negative experience for my children. It seems that bullying is a normal thing at this school as well as no respect to the teachers and friends. If you care about the children’s physical and emotional growth don’t send them to Second Hill Lane School !!!!Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 1733 Nichols Ave.
