I strongly believe this is an above average school. Of course, like any high school, it has its issues but overall the teachers want to support you and the administration is there to help you. You will succeed at this school and beyond if you put in the effort. AP and honors classes are rigorous and taught by excellent teachers. At those levels homework is a lot, but doable if you are dedicated. There are great opportunities for leadership, community service, extracurriculars, clubs, athletics, etc. The music department is fantastic, as is track and field and cross country. I'm glad for the time I spent at this school.

Killingworth Elementary School exceeded our expectations of everything we wanted in a developmental stage of life for our kids. Both are currently in HK Middle School and were/are more than prepared by KES. Grade-wise they are both at the straight-A level and are socially involved in many programs/athletics the school has to offer. KES afforded them this foundation to thrive.

My son attended this school for a year and a half. We were given a warm welcome and a private tour while enrolling. He had no noteworthy adjustment problems. He mainly hung out with the same 5 kids during his time there, which was fine by him as he didn't have popularity aspirations. His social life was fine, with occasional parties within his group. He says he didn't see any bullying in the classic sense. He might not have noticed however, as everyone knows bullying is often covert. He never felt unsafe. He enjoyed the drawing club after school. His teachers were generally competent, several being standouts (Especially Mr. Houlton, Mr. Flowers, and his English and math teachers whose names I forget. Sorry.) I was pleased with the curriculum. Parent communication with teachers was good and respectful. Teachers made themselves available for help or catching up after school. I have no complaints. This was his only schooling, outside of self educating, that he received before attending high school. He is now #1 in his high school class of 274 and has a good social life. I consider his time at H-K middle school an important part of his educational journey so far.
