7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageVery disappointing experience and lackluster school in my opinion. I do not recommend Peabody and know many parents who feel the same. My children have been bored and unchallenged with lackluster teachers (although there are some truly great teachers at Peabody too, we just didn’t happen to get them). No music program, no STEM program, no formal art program besides ceramics occasionally (which my kids do love). I’d look elsewhere for a high quality education that sets kids up for success in junior high and beyond.Parent Review1y ago - Santa Barbara Senior High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNot a good school for students who aren't White or Hispanic. Asian, Biracial and Black kids are seriously bullied and singled out. Not only by students but by staff as well. This school sits high on the systemic racism wagon. The principals blame the victim and not the abusers at this school. God forbid if the abuser is white. The teachers are pretty bad when it comes to teaching and explaining things to students. I have one child that has graduated and two still enrolled. I hear some of the worst stories from my children and after having conversations with the school I feel like there is no hope until they get rid of leadership.Parent Review2y ago - Santa Barbara Junior High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI gave this three stars because my daughter was happy there, socially. Not a great school for high achievers. Mixed bag of teachers and an absolutely terrible principal that should be replaced. He's apathetic and unapologetically dismissive with parents and students. I noticed in earlier reviews that parents loved the principal, however those reviews were PRIOR to Principal Lito M. Garcia being appointed to this position in May of 2011. The school tends to focus on bringing the bottom up to improve school test scores, and doesn't provide much support or encouragement for good students to reach beyond the formulaic and unchallenging Honor's classes..Parent Review8y ago - Check out schools near 1922-1924 Castillo.

"Right by Oak Park and Upper state. Close to Trader Joe's and plenty of restaurants and convenience stores. Far enough from downtown that rent isn't crazy, but close enough to walk or Uber there if needed."

"Great neighborhood. Cottage Hospital employees walk up and down our streets day and night as do people going for walks and walking their dogs. My wife and I have always walked downtown and back, great location for that."
