5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWashington Elementary is an outstanding school because it has created a warm, supportive and safe environment where each child feels like family. My daughter is a 4th grader and she participates in a different club daily. The China club actually has regular live feed video conference calls to China where the children can share ideas and cultural differences and similarities with each other. The Principal is always there encouraging the children to be brave and show pride in themselves. I have never seen a school with so much for children to engage in, my daughter was a finalist for the trip to China and she achieved 99% out of 100%. This is my daughter's first year at Washington and she will be honored at Washington's Annual Open House for meeting and exceeding academic standards in her class. Washington has a wonderful after school program that cost about $50.00 per year. This program keeps children active outdoors and they spend two hours a day in the library with reading challenges and online math games to help children build an understanding, love, excitement and appreciation for how many opportunities the knowledge of math can open. Washington serves every child a healthy breakfast each morning so they can concentrate on learning, this is so rare. I would not rate Washington at a 4. I take into consideration that each child is being taught in both English and Spanish no matter what language they speak. In additional, they have the opportunity to learn Mandarin, now that's a global education. Washington is not a private or charter school, no one is rich there. Washington Elementary is truly a jewel because they teach, serve and inspire each child without limiting their future potential. Principal Maria Evans is an amazing leader, listener, problem solver, peace maker and a person who brings everyone together. Mrs. Evans has fun with the children every chance she gets, it's adorable to watch. The children are allowed to play before class begins and parents stay until all the children are safely in class. The teachers make a point of talking to you about your child's issues and sincerely requests a partnership with you to ensure your child's success on every level. Bullying? One little girl tried it and the Principal and Teacher reminded her that she was a family member at Washington and family supports each other. Bullying? Over!Other Review8y ago - Willow Glen High School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your kid can tolerate bullying and feeling excluded, send your kid here. Some teachers seem to just be there for a paycheck. Teachers don't care about someone getting picked on. The AP courses are good, but the school does a poor job of helping students that may not have as great study habits as initially believed to set themselves up for success. The staff also don't seem to do much to help you figure out what classes you should take in order to prepare for college.Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend anyone going to this contemptible place that is called a high school. If there's a better option than this school, send your kid other than Willow Glen High School.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 1080 Sherman St.

"There's a park near the entrance to the neighborhood, there are children's playgrounds, basketball court, and bbq pits & tables. There have been numerous small parties and some sports on the field. Many times, we have gathered on certain holidays to watch fireworks, enjoy a bonfire, pass by with walking cute & exotic dogs, and sometimes participate with HOA in Open House availabilities."
