8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son is in 7th grade at MVMS. Awesome staff, great principal and helpful administrative team, nice buildings and campus, very good parents that care. Fun events and after school programs. This is one of the best middle schools in a very sought after school district. There are some weird 1-star reviews about a fidget spinner getting taken away and some covid reviews.. come one now people. My child is in the fourth grade currently , and she found her years quite enjoyable. "Although it's a small area of San diego, you can find most everything you need in Rancho Penasquitos. It's a safe place to live with a great school system. You will find all the shopping you need. Food, clothes, art supplies, home goods, tools, ect.. without losing itself in the hustle and bustle of San Diego."

"Significant Increasing of homeless and illegal activities around the area. There is some car lost report once or twice a month. Good elementary school but horrible middle school due to the bullying problems which principals can’t resolved. "

"Great school district-Poway Unified. Several Blue Ribbon schools. Quiet. Safe at night. Great for raising kids. Close to freeways without being noisy. 30 mins to downtown, 30mins to North County, 10-15 mins to the beach. Be sure to check out "Christmas Card Lane" in December! Cons: Sometimes, there are fires and we get evacuated. "
