4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGrant High School was a life changing experience for me. This is a school with many opportunities, if you seek them. I was college ready, and a top student. I also was an athlete and found the programs to be amazing. While Grant is lacking in funding it makes up for it in spirit. Im sad to hear alot of the staff that were there when I attended are no longer working there, but that staff made the school as amazing as it is. I feel this school would have better ratings if more people knew to post reviews on this site. When there are only negative experiences being broadcasted and the people with positive experiences are not doing reviews, it doesn't create a cumulative review thats not based on bias. This school has the greatest potential, and the greatest stories to go along with it. I blame the city and the state for not putting more into the school considering its location. Despite the adversity, those who have strong pacer pride, work hard to give the school a better name.Other Review2y ago - Northwood Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt was a good school but some teachers have diffrent moods and are different but thats normal but at this school kids would bring alcohol and things to smoke and kids do it all the time and the school knows it but so far as long as u stay away from the negativity and stay with positive and good side of teachers than u should be fine just dont get mixed into trouble because your most likely to get into a fight and since its 7th to 8th there are big kids and if ur small u definitely don't want to get stirred up in trouble and drama..well thats all i gotta say but the teachers are nice and great and same to some kids..Student Review5y ago - Check out schools near Santiago Ave.

"My neighborhood has great access to grocery stores and a couple of minutes from downtown Sacramento! Friendly neighborhood"

"I live in a small new housing development. Every place around is run down with garbage in the streets. Lots of criminal activity. Prostitution and drug dealing at the children’s park. Frequent police helicopter fly-overs reporting missing children or a suspected criminal in the area. Lots of homeless people who go through your garbage. "

"Neighborhood sucks. Blighted and poorly maintained. Only good thing is it’s cheap. I will be moving soon."

"not good at all I really don't know nobody and is always so noisy people don't sleep I remember the times when there was peace and quiet people go to sleep at a different time but a good time"

"Old North Sacramento has a lot of character, it's not like anywhere else I have ever lived. It is a neighborhood in transition, so parts can be a bit scruffy, but I really liked my neighbors. People were real and not snobby; and there a lot of people who truly care about the neighborhood. Recently the Good Market opened off of Del Paso Blvd and there are many new art establishments, athletic gyms, and interesting restaurants including Enotria and The Green Boheme (raw/vegan dining). Del Paso Blvd also features a bunch of fun, interesting public art. From Old North Sacramento you can get to public transportation, Highway 160, Freeway I-80, the post office, hardware store, grocery store, thrift store, and library all within a few easy blocks."

"I do live here. It appears to look quiet and nice, but there is crime. It is unsafe to walk in the area from twilight on. There has even been daytime muggings. Lite rail is only a couple of blocks away, but that part of Del Paso is locked up tighter than a drum by 9:00pm. With dim street lights and closed businesses it becomes very unsafe. There are drug dealers and prostitutes with an active trade in the area. It is not a good environment for children."

"Easy access to I-80, 5 and downtown. Great restaurants near by including Enotria and the Green Boheme. "
