8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has attended Vintage for the past 5 years and every year I hoped the next one would be better. The play areas are sad; playgrounds in a sea of asphalt with no shade, and the kids are made to wait outside in lines at the beginning of the day, waiting for their teachers to collect them and bring them to class, again with no shade. The after school programs are awful. They don't provide homework help, or even time for the kids to do their homework on their own. There are no enrichment classes unless a teacher volunteers to create one for their class. And the communication from the school is terrible. We would receive requests for donations of items a day before they were due, or we would find out about events happening at the school the day of! The teachers are hit or miss. My daughter loved her kindergarten and first grade teachers, but this was during the pandemic and her handwriting suffered. All school work was done by typing on a computer, so she lost out on valuable handwriting practice, and her first grade teacher introduced the students to YouTube, which I was actively trying to avoid. Her second and third grade teachers were overly strict, one of them wouldn't even allow the kids to take notes during class. Her fourth grade teacher is the first one she's had that feels like she truly loves the students and is trying her best to enrich their time at school. It was also during this year that we pulled her from the after school program, though, because the coaches were uncaring and downright mean. She would call me from the Youth Services program crying because they wouldn't allow her to use a fan on severely hot days, or they would yell at her for doing her homework.Don't even get me started on the free-for-all that is drop off every morning. No parking or rule enforcement whatsoever. One more year to go and I can't wait to get her out of this school.Parent Review1mo ago - Northridge Academy High

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have always felt welcomed at this school, since day one with my oldest attending this school in 2nd grade. She is currently now a 9th grader but all her siblings attend this school as well. With a 1st, 4th and 5th grader who currently attend, I could not feel more happier, safe and appreciative, of all the hard work the teachers and staff do, to help our students succeed and be ready for this rapidly changing world. I 100% recommended this school to friends and family and I would recommend it to you. Give this school an opportunity to show you what a collaborative team can do!Parent Review3mo ago - Oliver Wendell Holmes Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child attended from 2019 to 2021 when I moved her. Online teaching was an absolute disaster and no one at the school would work with my child who was having major mental health issues. The assignments were multiple and inappropriate for the time they were expected to do them. This school says they are "accelerated" but they just give a lot of work. That isn't for gifted...that's busy work.My child was threatened 2 times with sexual assault and the school did absolutely NOTHING for my child except have the other kids apologize to my child. Ridiculous. My child had to go to therapy for this and the school did nothing to protect her.Teachers didn't work with parents or students to improve grades. if a child fails, that's it. No help. No caring. No compassion. My child hated going to school. her depression was thick. The school did not care at all.I moved her to a new MS the 2nd semester of her 8th grade year and she SOARED! She loved going to school and ended her MS career with straight As. She was getting Ds at Holmes without any help or intervention from teachers. They do not care. Now my child is in HS and doing amazing. Thank god for getting out of HOLMES. it's awful.Parent Review11mo ago - James Monroe High School
