2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is horrible! I called the front office because my daughter called me saying someone was trying to jump her and then they never even checked on her nothing! my daughter got jumped and all they said was sorry its horrible I will never recommend lauds to turn it into a green dot school they actually listen to you not like this school !Parent Review10y ago - Manhattan Place Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor the school year 2012-13 I moved into the neighborhood in which Manhattan Place Elementary is the home school. I must say I was throughly disappointed in the curriculum, if you could call it that. It is apparent that the focus is getting the test scores up and not actually meeting the required curriculum. Maybe it's because they don't believe the kids in the surrounding area are able to learn, but given a little push i'm pretty sure these children would show them other wise. As a concerned parent who actually takes the time to push her children i'm asking for a change.Parent Review10y ago - Teach Academy Of Technologies

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIve been at this school and I got to say many of the staff and adults that work there are just rude. I have gotten in trouble for not having a phone multiple times back then, and I think it's none of their concern and I don't get the point of getting in trouble for such small things. I once got in trouble and wasn't let into the bathroom because apparently I was going in constantly but they hear me out when I explain that I had a sort of emergency situation. I'm going to be honest, but it was always the same staff getting me in trouble all the time when I didn't do anything wrong. The teachers are okay, but I got more complaints on the staff and even the principal. When the COVID-19 situation was handled more serious before, the principal asked me if I had gotten a COVID test, and I answered "No, but i have a card of my COVID vaccination I got this weekend." She yelled at "I dont care!" and started complaining on how I didn't get a COVID test recently. I get that she was expecting a test instead of vaccination but I think she could've handled things better instead of yelling at me and saying I don't care. I told my parents about it and they didn't like it. I've always told my parents about things like this, and they once even complained to them but they just responded saying that it wasn't really there fault and things like that. The campus is really small by the way. There's been multiple fights here and the bathrooms are just disgusting. To parents reading this, I don't recommend this school.Other Review1y ago - Check out schools near 2126 W 92nd St.

"I lived in this neighborhood for over a year. The weekends are loud you can hear music being played from houses down the street. Not walkable at all. Huge dogs everywhere and doesn’t feel the safest. Pretty dirty and unmaintained. Closest grocery store is a food for less which is dirty and not where I would want to buy my groceries."

"this area is a melting pot of many different long- standing Los Angeles lineages of all different types. there is a strong certain respect for people who have lived here all their lives and stand against letting the neighborhood be bought out i (gentrified) in any way. I admire it :) Also, there are some beautiful, beautiful front yard gardens ❤️"

"of you go to school here or need to be here cool but for raising children not the location. I have 2 boys and this is not the place I would be having them go out side or run around. also there is almost never any parking here. I could buy a new car with all that I owe in parking tickets"

"I've lived here for 3 years now and some of the neighbors are friendly and we all look out for one another. There's a laundry mat right across the street from where I live so it's really convenient when laundry needs to be done a plus about that is I don't have to cross a busy intersection it's right on the corner of a residential neighborhood. "Like most of L. A. , we are over - crowded by families who exceed maximum occupancy; averaging about 30 per household. One bedroom apts hold 3 generations. Everyone gets a loud birthday party and all parties are outside. Good luck finding a parking space on the same block. "

"There are a lot of lose dogs around the neighborhood and many aren’t trained so it can pose a threat to your dog. People don’t pick up after their dogs so there is poop on the sidewalks. Also it can be hard to walk your dog because there is a lot of trash on the street and sidewalks so your dog might chew things up. "

"Fairs and parks are plentiful, small block parks everywhere. We have 3 in a 8 block radius There is a homeless problem; that’s all over the country Theft is very low people respect each other’s property in that way. Not the prettiest are the newest but is fairly safe I catch the bus to work and it is actually the best bus line in the city of Los Angeles comes every five minutes it goes from Gardena to Hollywood every five minutes "

"Be diligent parents regardless of your neighborhood. Children look to their parents for guidance and protection. If economic means makes an undesirable neighborhood more suitable, bring awareness to your children about the importance of being humble, yet not allowing that same economical situation to be a hindrance to achievement. "Always a long commute. Wether I drive or use public transportation. The streets have also been redone to accommodate bikers & scooters with their own lanes but most riders don’t follow the signs or lights. You have to be a super defensive driver."

"There aren’t any that I am aware of. No sense of community here. It has a long way to go. The old houses are beautiful. Parking is a nightmare. Proximity to metro is great. "

"I don't know of any. I rarely go out in my neighborhood. There's to many people loitering outside of liquor stores, which essentially cause gang violence or shootings."
