4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend that any child attend this school. This school is unsafe and dangerous for children, as there is no punishment for bullying. We are new to this area, and my 7th grader was assaulted in the bathroom during PE by a student much larger than him. My son reported it to the counselors and principal and they did nothing. He was afraid to return to school because they would not suspend or expel the student who attacked him. In the end, we had to homeschool our child for the rest of the school year. When we mentioned not bringing our child back to school, the principal (Seana Condit) was only concerned about him missing state testing. She had zero concern for the safety of children at this school. The student who assaulted my son is still on campus.Parent Review10mo ago - Fairview Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child joined the Fairview community February 2020 just weeks prior to Covid. The pandemic was a difficult transition not just for my then second grader but for the educator as well. The virtual academic environment was often hostile and led with frustration and disorganization. My student got to the point of crying every morning and exhibiting anxious behaviors knowing that learning hours were approaching. Since school has returned to in person the schools leadership has proven to be unstable with at least three changes amongst principals and assistant principals. Students are not held accountable for their violent and aggressive behaviors. Teachers and staff are insensitive and disrespectful. There is a disconnect between administration, staff, and parents. The students behavior and conduct are completely out of control and the only measure of discipline and restorative action is simply a verbal apology. My student has fallen behind academically and despite receiving additional services beyond campus they struggle with exceeding expectations while testing and reflecting curriculum. The sole highlight of the schools community is the art department Ms. Dixon has been the most consistent and positive outlet for the students throughout my experience with Fairview. I also appreciate the social emotional supports provided through community partners.Parent Review8mo ago - Hayward High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth my children have excelled at Hayward High. My daughter is now entering her sophomore year at UC Berkeley and my son is definitely UC bound. Their AP program is excellent and prepped my daughter well for the academic curriculum at Berkeley. Just stay in your kid's "business", make sure they take challenging courses, stay respectful of their teachers and participate in sports or other clubs and your children will do well.Parent Review9mo ago - Strobridge Elementary School
