3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrific. My child was told she wasn't allowed extra curriculum because she wasn't an English learner. She was bullied. She made no friends. This school is a disaster. Thankfully we had a choice of transferring to a school where she is now thriving.Parent Review7y ago - Carpinteria Middle School

"No place is truly “safe”. A lot of street drugs happening at the beach but kids are all over town playing (very young) without supervision. I don’t have kids but if I did I would be more cautious & aware of where your kids are all the time!! "

"Cars drive too fast on through streets. The amount of litter is sad. Typically, there are too many people living in each single family house. "

"I’ve lived in Carpinteria for more than 20 years and I love this little beach town. It has its own laidback feel to it and isn’t as stuffy or trendy as Montecito or Santa Barbara. There isn’t much in the way of nightlife and things get pretty quiet after about 8:30pm. But the charm of this place is hard to beat. "

"The cost of living is really high in Carpinteria. In general, landlords don’t maintain their properties. "

"I live here part time and work here. Been here for 24 years. I fell in love with the town in 1991 and have loved it ever since.I am an artist and it is beautiful! People are so so nice. You have the gorgeous beach, ocean, sunsets, and mountains while everything in the town is a flat walk , biking hiking, sipping coffee in the sun. Just a wonderful heavenly quiet joyful place to be!"
