9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe Principal has been very receptive and always available to discuss our concerns. I visit the school at different times of the day throughout the year and I see his presence in the lunch room on the yard and in the school as a strong and positive influence on the school , it's students and the teaching staff. The PTA is involved and the school supports may different initiatives on behalf of BAM and the community.Parent Review5y ago - Berkeley High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you’re interested in a Wolk environment, that places social issues above education, this is the place for you. It caters to the lowest common denominator at the expense of serious students. If you’re a self-starter and seriously motivated student, you might survive. It can offer a quality education, but those opportunities diminish year-by-year as political agenda takes hold. There is little to no repercussions for violent behavior.Parent Review1y ago - Ruth Acty Elementary

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the Rosa Parks community. The dynamic Science, Dance, Arts, core curriculum, and after school programming are all top-notch. The school has a thriving Science lab and curriculum; my son has taken in after school enrichment: Art; Yoga; Toyology (making toys based on Science concepts); Soccer; Chess; Cooking. The physical layout of the school is charming and welcoming. It's a special place.Parent Review6y ago - Check out schools near 1425 7th St #1.

"There are a lot of dog walkers around during the day time, but the street lighting isn’t consistent. Also, nearby parks do not feel very safe before sunrise or after sunset. There are frequent assaults reported in the area. I make a point to only walk my dog during the day and without headphones in, so that I can be aware of my surroundings. "

"I have lived in the area for over 10 years. There are so many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, grocery stores, etc within walking distance or within a five minute drive. North Berkeley Bart is within a 7 minute walk; SF express bus lines on Gilman and San Pablo. Amtrak (in Emeryville) is within a 7-10 min drive. The area is bike friendly. It’s single and family area. Lots to do!"

"I have lived in this neighborhood for close to three years now. I spend a lot of time on the street walking my dog and walking with my child and feel very much 'at home' here. I've met lovely people and feel the location is one of the best in Berkeley. Others in the area feel the same way. "

"Having lived at different locations in Berkeley for the past 15 years, currently in North West Berkeley, this neighborhood is one of the nicer places in town. A stone-throw from the freeway, a short walk to Bart, quiet, friendly neighbors."
