4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy two daughters are 3rd generation Huachuca City School attendees. The school hasn't changed much since their grandmother attended in the 1970's. It's a small town school with 500+ kids Pre-K thru 8th grade. Smaller schools like HCS have both pros and cons. HCS and other smaller town school staff are usually very approachable, understanding and involved. Kids don't get lost in the crowd so to speak. There's also never an issue with having to wait in long lines or deal with school traffic. On the other hand there is not a huge selection of extra curricular activities and electives for the older kids, and there aren't a whole lot of field trips except for maybe once a year. Where as larger more populated schools seem to have more. Incidents of bullying or fighting are rare, and I haven't personally heard of anything more sinister such as drug use or hazing, etc. Most of the teachers are competent and care about the kids. Both of my children have made significant academic progress and they wake up every day excited to see their friends. The entire atmosphere and vibe gives a warm, personal and inviting feel, without any of the current leftist woke propaganda being pushed in some of the bigger city schools. One of my favorite things about this school, and the other schools in this district, are the large signs posted on the fence that read, "Warning: some TUSD may be armed and will use whatever force necessary to protect our students". HCS isn't for everyone, but it's perfect for our family.Parent Review1y ago - Tombstone High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has been to Buena High School and CAS in Sierra Vista and her experiences have left us feeling like a GED was her only option in is area. After her failed attempt at online school at Prima Vera, she decided to try Tombstone High School. Because of their low scores I was MORE than worried; but, since she has been there her grades and outlook on education has improved! She has found caring students, teachers, and administrators. Her one "problem" teacher is working with her to teach in the way that she learns so they can both be successful at their "jobs". School is not about scores based on educational opportunities, it is more about the comraderie of the students and the care and commitment of the faculty. If my child doesn't feel comfortable in her learning environment and important to the teachers and administration, she will not like school and will not succeed. I am so glad that she is in an environment where she can thrive! Tombstone High School should get a "10"! Tombstone takes bullying seriously, as well, and my daughter feels safe-unlike at the higher "scoring" Buena High School.Other Review8y ago - Walter J Meyer School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience of sending my children to school, Mrs. Paz running Walter J Meyer has brought division, fear, and threats to my children. Especially in middle school. I would greatly love to feel the welcoming community that this school has previously provided before it had Mrs. Paz as a principal.Parent Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 3051 S Helen Rose Ln.

"Beautiful scenery, warm people, and a cultural hub for the surrounding areas. This area is amazing to live in, I’ve been here for 8 years and love to be here for most of it. We have amazing restaurants, businesses, and resources- and it’s only an hour and a half drive to the nearest “big city.” I definitely recommend Sierra Vista if you’re looking for a home."

"I've been here for 6 months, there is bus service but only until 6pm and only until Saturday. No service on Sunday. But still, there is a shuttle service you can call but they're only in service until 8pm. That on is called Roadrunner. There is another one which will take you to the casinos, Tucson, airports and local destinations. You have to look around in order to find what you want and need."
