SAN FRANCISCO, MARCH 6th, 2014 – Trulia (NYSE: TRLA), a leading online marketplace for home buyers, sellers, renters, and real estate professionals, has launched a new search experience for home buyers that are interested in new construction. Trulia’s research shows that people searching for new homes approach the search process differently than consumers searching for resale homes, so Trulia now brings information such as community amenities and home design choices to the forefront of the experience. The richer new home search experience also provides better exposure for Trulia’s builder partners to market their listings.  

“New home builders are increasing their output to meet strong demand in many markets across the country, especially areas with low inventory,” said Pete Flint CEO of Trulia. “With this new product we intend to be the top partner to builders, and connect them with our growing audience of serious home buyers.”  

As the housing sector continues its gradual recovery, new home sales have demonstrated recent momentum. Last week the Commerce Department reported that new single-family home sales rose 9.6% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 468,000 from a month earlier. This is the highest level since July of 2008.

  • See all the homes that are available in that community in one place, including ones that are built and ready for sale and floor plans of all the models
  • Learn more about the entire community including amenities like walking trails, gym facilities, pools, community centers, security features and more
  • And to find out if their builder is running any special promotions

Almost 800 builders have listing exposure on Trulia today. In addition, in 2013, Trulia worked directly with 13 of the top 15 builders in the U.S. on customized advertising campaigns, helping connect them with Trulia’s consumer audience, which includes more than 35 million unique visitors each month.
