SAN FRANCISCO – April 28th, 2015 –Android™ phones have just become an even more useful tool for finding the right place to live. Beginning today, Trulia®, a leading home search resource for buyers and renters, will begin recommending homes with Now cards from Trulia in the Google Android app. The new service will make home search easier, by curating information while people are on the go. Homes will be tailored to each user, based on their saved Trulia searches including criteria such as price, location and bedroom count. Trulia will serve one update each day, depending on the availability of homes in specific markets.
“Android phones are already very popular with home seekers using Trulia and we think today’s software release will provide an even better experience because home search and mobility are inextricably linked,” said Jeff McConathy, Vice President of Engineering for Trulia. “Now cards are perfectly suited for home seekers who want to get a leg up and know immediately when a new home that meets their search criteria hits the market.”
Notifications from Now cards for Trulia are manageable from multiple places – including your Android phone, tablet, or computer browser – because Now cards from Trulia are synchronized with a person’s Trulia account. For example, any changes to the search criteria made from a computer browser, such as increasing the number of bedrooms, will be reflected in the next batch of homes sent to that person’s phone.
Once a person receives a notification about an interesting home, they can tap it to access the full experience of the Trulia Android app. This includes being able to see rich full screen photos, local information such as schools and crime rates, and details about the home, like number of bedrooms and square footage. There is even a tool to understand the mortgage payment.
If a person is interested in the home, they can then contact the agent via the Trulia app to arrange a viewing, find directions, and see it in person – all on the go.
