HAMMOND RESIDENTIAL, CABOT & COMPANY AND APARTMENT RENTAL EXPERTS PARTNER WITH TRULIA TO DELIVER RENTAL LISTINGS IN BOSTON AREA

SAN FRANCISCO, August 08, 2012 – Trulia, a leading online marketplace for homebuyers, sellers, renters and real estate professionals, today announced that Hammond Residential, Cabot & Company and Apartment Rental Experts will syndicate their Boston rental listings to Trulia. Consumers will now have access to a distinctive group of new properties, which makes it easier for Trulia users to find the right place to live in the desirable Boston area. And with dedicated mobile apps for rentals, Trulia is making the search process much more manageable.

“Our partners in the real estate industry are hearing from consumers about Trulia’s mobile apps,” said Pierre Calzadilla, Trulia’s Manager of Apartment Industry Relations. “Ultimately, my team’s focus is to work with real estate and rental professionals to deliver great rental listings while building powerful tools for consumers to find the right place to live.”

“Trulia recently showed up on the map for us when it comes to finding renters,” said Nancy McCreary, Vice President of the Hammond Rental Group. “Not only does Trulia connect us with highly qualified renters, they also provide tools, like listing activity reports, which make managing our online presence easier in this fast-paced rental market.”

Finding a rental in Boston

According to the Trulia Rent Monitor, Boston rents rose 10.3% year-over-year, making rent increases in Boston the fifth highest of major metros in the U.S. Some of this spike can be attributed to the huge number of college and graduate students in the Boston area. With more than 250,000 higher education students in Boston and Cambridge, the area is a hot bed of rental activity during the summer. As students aim to secure new apartments for the upcoming school year, the rental market culminates on September 1st, the biggest move-in date for renters in Boston.

In this environment, renters can benefit from tools Trulia provides to help them find what they are looking for quickly and efficiently. Trulia’s dedicated rentals apps for iPhone and Android are optimized for the tight time frame renters operate on when searching for their next place to call home. The app allows renters to browse a map of current listings by ZIP code, neighborhood or current location. It also highlights new listings almost immediately, via push notifications and color-coded markers which note newer properties.

The Trulia Rentals App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch, online and in the Play store from Android.
