Phenomenal school with a wealth of unique learning experiences. Students raise chickens, rabbits, honey bees, and brook trout as well as monitor/study species that live on school grounds such as birds, bugs, etc. The school is a historic building - the kindergarten classroom is the original 100+ year old one room school house - and it sits on dozens of acres of school forest, which the students are able to learn and play in daily. Each year, students get to tap Maple trees and learn about Maple syrup production step by step. They have vegetable and pollinator gardens as well as an apple orchard and two separate playgrounds. Teachers use curriculum with a strong environmental and agricultural base. The school has a strong family feel and offer many opportunities to get involved. Students who attend Maple Grove and go on to graduate from the district are eligible for the Fromm Family Scholarship, which is a HUGE benefit. The Fromm family has deep roots in the area and in the school - the historic grounds are just next door. Students learn about Fromm history and get to tour the property. We have been active Maple Grove parents for 9 years now - with 9 more to go. I cannot say enough good things about this amazing school.
