The U.S. Secretary of Education recently recognized Hamilton Elementary School in Port Angeles School District as an Exemplary High Performing National Blue Ribbon School for 2020. Hamilton is only one of four schools from Washington (among 367 nationally) to be recognized in 2020. This is the third time in four years that Hamilton has received national recognition. In 2018 Hamilton was the recipient of the ASCD Vision in Action: The Whole Child Award in Boston. Last February, Hamilton was the recipient of the 2019-2020 Title I, Part A national ESEA Distinguished School Award: Exceptional Student Performance and Academic Growth for Two or More Consecutive Years. Prior to receiving national recognition, Hamilton was the recipient of the 2015 Washington Achievement Award high Progress and the 2017 WSASCD Washing State Whole Child Award.
