White Pass

The teachers challenge students and there are multiple resource rooms to help students who are behind. Clubs and activities are offered. In the past this has included a Harry Potter Appreciation Club, a LGBTQ+ club, and more. Sports are offered and are a big deal there. There are three different levels of band classes, a music and choir classes, a tech and robotics classes, and each teacher offers an elective students rotate through. There is a raised bed garden and greenhouse in the courtyard, as well as tree planting activities that took place spring 2021. The school is one to one with technology devices and uses Google Classroom and Google Docs. The library is well stocked with new arrivals each month and has a part time librarian.They are moving to standardized based grading and the district has a focus on growth mindset. There is a part time to position for a Highly Capable coordinator, several SPED teachers in the building, speech and language therapist, ELL teacher and para educator. The Character Strong curriculum is currently being used for social emotional learning in advisory which meets 4x per week. There is a MS counselor on site. There is an anonymous tip line for bullying.

Teachers make students feel inadequate and that they are not good enough. Daughter has complained several times she feels like her teacher targets her and makes her feel stupid. Switching to online only education.
