Most of the teachers and academic support staff are wonderful. Nevertheless, as the data suggests, underprivileged and underrepresented students receive inadequate academic and social support. Unfortunately how students are treated by the elementary office staff is dependent upon their socioeconomic status. Despite a lot of community support the special education program is a disaster and bullying is a perpetual problem. Family and community engagement could be better supported.
