9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my grandson was sent to this school its because he had emotional issues from a Chromosome malfunction. He eventually was tested and we PAID for that with an outside testing facility. He ultimately was put in special education. This experience has left him permanently traumatized and he still talks about it to this day. This school had a padded room for emotional behavior issues. If a child goes into a meltdown ( as these children do through no fault of their own) they were held either in a vice sort of grip or locked in a padded room.Looking back we now know we should have put him in a school better educated and equipped to handle children such as my grandson. It all started in kindergarten when we realized something wasn't as it should be. He will NEVER EVER RECOVER HOW HE WAS TREATED HERE.NONE OF THE TEACHERS THERE IN SPECIAL EDUCATION ACTUALLY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING. This cause PTSD on top of his overloaded anxiety he suffered from No, Go to a school for its specialty of taking care of children with special needs. Public schools are a failure where mental and emotional stability needs are concerned.Parent Review3y ago20 Reviews - George G. Tyler Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI can only describe this school and all of its teachers and staff with the very best words. Throughout my child’s years of education here, I never once needed to review any lessons with them, because every day they came home having fully learned everything at school. The teachers and staff are always engaged with families and respond to our questions and needs in the shortest possible time. For me, one of the most beautiful signs of this school’s quality is that my younger child cried for days at the beginning of every summer break because they missed their teachers so much. I truly believe this shows that all of the teachers are not only highly professional and skilled but also incredibly kind and caring.Parent Review7mo ago11 Reviews - J.W. Alvey Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUnfortunately sometimes reviews are given based on what people think they know about a place rather than knowing the facts. The facts are that Buckland Mills still does give students PAWS awards and stickers. Administration calls parents to celebrate these PAW awards. They have even added to the award with tokens for the book vending machine when students get 2 golden PAWS. In addition, students who get PAWS get an item from the treasure chest. There are three administrators who divide up attendance for after school events and even attend weekend events such as concerts, robotics, and other county level tournaments. You just need to go onto the school website and scroll down to see the many awards and recognitions this school has received in the last four years. To stay really informed about a school and know the facts it is best to become involved by attending PTO and school advisory council meetings. All the staff at this school work hard and want the school to be recognized for all the amazing work.Other Review1mo ago22 Reviews - Samuel L. Gravely Jr. Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe new principal is highly disappointing. She's consistently grumpy, rarely smiles, and often appears irritated. She lacks the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff, which is crucial in a leadership role. It's unclear how she even landed the position, but it's hard to believe there aren't far more qualified candidates. I truly miss the previous principal, who was far more effective and approachable. Let's hope she doesn't dampen and ruin Gravely which had a uplifting positive tone and energy.Other Review1y ago17 Reviews - Haymarket Elementary School
