The TA's (teaching assistants) nurses office, cafeteria staff and even janitorial truly care about the kids but the teacher and the administration are absolutely terrible in dealing with the students. As you can see by the fact that the school is performing in the bottom 20% in the state and the bottom 15% in the country. Spending 20K per student and getting these results should have parents with pitchforks showing up at the school board but the school board and the supervisors just let half of the schools in this county be dumpsters while the rich kids in the Crozet area, like Brownsville and and at Western Albemarle High School get the Taj Mahal schools my kids are bused from way south to go to this hellhole of a school. (Nice facilities, equipment and furniture, do not make up for incompetent staff.

Both of our children went to Johnson Elementary School. The community there is wonderful, the teachers are caring and excellent, the culture is supportive and kind. I had many friends who sent their kids to private schools, and I believe my children received a better education at Johnson Elementary than they would have at any area private school. Wonderful, Wonderful school!

I went there from 1st to 4th (2013- 2017) and it was so amazing and all of the teachers were so friendly and kind. It was overall just a fantastic experience for me and all of my friends. I would tell everyone I know to out their kids at Jackson-via any day of the week. It truly is a great school.

Our son was briefly in this school before we moved into the county, and we were very happy with it. Very positive atmosphere with a very city-like feel I think.

Our family has been at The Covenant School for 6 years and we love it!! Year after year we are impressed by the level of education and the thoughtfulness given to the school's mission, "Teaching the Next Generation to Live Well", through work and play. Our experience with the faculty and staff has been nothing less than excellent. The teachers are scholars in their subjects and they are grounded in their love for Christ. The students, and the Covenant community as a whole, benefit from their teachings. The leadership team is unified in its efforts to maintain a school that is consistent in its Christian Liberal Arts vision. In a world that is constantly changing it is a good to know that Christ's teachings and his love for us never change and that message is solidified daily through the shepherding of our children. If you are interested in a Christian education that is born from rigorous academics and fun activities that both grow the students' faith and their connection to the people around them then The Covenant School in Charlottesville, Virginia is a great place to look!

This school has pushed me to limits i've never had and then required me to surpass them once again. I am surrounded by intelligent people. Our conversations are always sparked by what we just learned in class and the faculty include some of the most genuine and kind people I've met. At Peabody, everyone wants to learn, so even if your very bright, but don't want that challenge, it might not be the right school for you. However, I urge anyone willing to try it out for a year, because sometimes you need a bigger challenge to create or unlock the desire for one. Violence and harassment such as bullying is not tolerated, which makes students, including myself, feel safer. Our language classes swap every semester for the kindergarten through third grade. Once you reach fourth grade, you are to pick between Spanish and French. I feel the french program is more structured in its program, however, either program is great. P.E. (Physical Education) is fun. Our P.E. curriculum is centered on having fun. We play everything from kickball, to whiffle-tennis (if you attend the school you'll learn what it is). And our dodgeballs are NOT actual dodge balls. They're extremely aerodynamic foam balls (I, myself, have no clue how they get to be that aerodynamic. It's foam.). The curriculum for lower school has built in subjects, called Specials. They are Technology, Music, Art, and Drama. Once you get into the middle school program, which starts at fifth grade you get to pick which classes you want to be in. These are called Arts and Enrichments, or A&E's. There are fiber arts classes where you can learn to crochet, do needle point, and knit. There are more classes to choose from as well physically active A&E's such as Mountain Biking. You can take Improv classes for Drama, or take a fashion/sewing class for art, where you learn how to sew using both a needle and a sewing machine, and then display your projects at a mini school fashion show. You can take classes such as Weird History, where you make a slideshow every couple of classes about the history of something weird or random. And you get to pick four per semester and each one has a day you do it on, which ranges Monday through Thursday. The 5th and 6th grade A&E classes are forty-five minutes long each, while the 7th and 8th grade A&E classes are each an hour long. I have been at this school since kindergarten, and highly recommend this school for anyone who feels up for a challenge, even if you're not sure you are.

Read all of the other one star reviews of this place. I couldn’t agree more. In all my years here, I didn’t learn a single thing. All of the clubs are useless, along with the teachers. There is no diversity and there is a clear divide between the minority kids and the white Americans. The school is very cliquey and hard to find friends as it is very small. So many classmates throughout high school left to go to public school because of how much they hated it here. Do your research and don’t send your kid here. It is a waste of time and money!
