9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBBE focuses a lot on standardized tests and following the rules. Very little emphasis on actual applied learning happens here. This is just one of many example - I went to an open house to see my child's work, meet the teacher, etc. I was shown a math worksheet on "stems and leaves." I asked the teacher to explain it, and she did. I asked her, because it didn't seem at all useful, how would one use it in real life? She said, "I don't know, they just told me to teach it." My child came to the teacher asking if there was anyone else by the bathrooms? He said that he heard a man's voice and was scared. What did the teacher do? She argued that there was no one there, but NEVER sent someone to make sure no person was in the school!I've caught the administration telling lies, and caught the teachers violating state policies. They tried to make up excuses, until they found out I was a teacher. As a teacher I am very disappointed in this school. A lot of rules, a lot of testing, very little learning, and even less caring.Parent Review10y ago6 Reviews - Elm Grove Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter had a great experience at this school. It is a good learning environment. We moved from out of state last year and she has adapted well. She has made several friends at this school. Good teachers and staff. Many interesting activities. Would only emphasize a bit more in extendind club's lists and enrollment and perhaps challenging students a bit more academically with homework (which is minumum)Parent Review2y ago5 Reviews - Woodland Hills Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve had two kids go through GTE, and our kids have thrived here. We have two very different children - one GT and one on the spectrum. Both have been engaged, excelled and loved their teachers and friends. The learning environment is inclusive and uplifting. The teachers are fantastic. When my younger child needed counseling they set her up with the district counselor to come by and see her. We love this school.Parent Review2y ago6 Reviews - Hidden Hollow Elementary

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSuch an incredible school!!! I have never seen such a great group of teachers, administrators, and staff, who care so deeply for each and every child. Hidden Hollow families are also very welcoming and supportive. This school has truly been a precious gem in our lives and made a huge impact on our lil man's education.Parent Review2y ago10 Reviews - Porter Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average(Accountable & Safety) The students are sent to Porter Elementary to help them to deal with behavior issues. Yet it seems that its more problems there with the students being bullied by the students that's in the program. The school seems to be covering and doesn't address the problem. My 6-year-old grandson was there for 3 weeks and had already been pouched twice and kicked within those day by the same student. After the last incident. We were not contacted by the teachers. We were contacted by the nurse. We immediately went to pick him up. We asked for a bully investigation on the 3/28 only for someone to call on 4/5. To say the investigation was inconclusive. Now my grandson hasn't been in school due to us fearing of his safety. The school has not update us on anything that will be done. Are if anything will be done. Are if the student parents were even aware of anything. It wasn't a reason for her call on 4/5 due to it wasn't a resolution. The conversation wasn't re ensuring that it wouldn't happen again are that it was or would be addressed. They all say they understand, but no you don't understand if it isn't your loved one. We will not continue to put him in harm's way. Transfer is the best option at this point. I do not recommend this school. I'm very disappointed in the way it was handled.Parent Review3y ago4 Reviews - Kings Manor Elementary School
