"Quite area and safe for the kids to play with local playgrounds in the area. This area is also still expanding and plenty of opportunities to come. "

"Calallen sucks. Public schools are mediocre at best. My family and I are moving after 6 years of political corruption "

"There are no community events that take place in Tuscan. The people here are stuck-up that they refuse to talk to you if you don’t water your lawn regularly. "

"I’ve lived here for 6 years now and can’t wait to leave. My own neighbors are so stuck up that they won’t come out and talk to anyone. I’m going back to Louisiana where people are nice. "

"Everything you need seems to be pretty near by, you don’t have to drive great distances. The drive downtown is only about a 15 minute drive or less."

"Dislikes: no dog parks, fast drivers with no regard for pedestrians on streets without sidewalks, stray dogs at every turn, absolutely nothing scenic or shady for walking. Calallen is no gem. Trash and tree debris everywhere. Plain ugly."

"Wood River is the most beautiful neighborhood in the area. Lots of trees shading the sidewalks makes walking outside a joy. Neighbors are very friendly. It's simply the best place to live in Calallen."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageYou will not find a better public school. This district is known for its excellence. My child attended this elementary, and she excelled. Her learning has always been challenged, but superior teachers and supportive staff make it possible for any student to thrive. Also, with parent involvement, there is a feeling of community at this school and the entire district which is composed of the elementary, middle school, and high school. What a great experience!Parent Review16y ago1 Reviews - Calallen Wood River Elementary School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has a wonderful nurse and secretary. Our child's first teacher was outstanding. During the past two years the school has experienced a shortage of teachers qualified for the positions they are appointed. Reporting issues to the principal is impossible. She doesn't return phone calls or answer emails. Ultimately, issues are not adequately resolved. We have had other families approach and express the same concerns. If you have a child with special needs...don't enroll here.Parent Review1y ago3 Reviews
