9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's my son's first year of school 2021 the school assistant principal would only come up to me when I would come early to pick up my child who needs assistance walking to the car his not aware of danger all kids get dismissed when the bell rings she gave me a warning not to come early it didn't make sense but it's the rules. Not even 1 week later we get a notice that they are switching my child to another school they weren't very understanding it was just totally random decision they made. My child was perfectly fine here he loves his teachers it takes a while for kids with autism to get adjusted they weren't very understanding of that they just wanted us to go. The teachers are nice the staff I interacted with while picking up my child were nice. The only thing that is worrisome is the pickup line and rules they shouldn't dismiss all the kids outside when the bell rings not everyone is the same but accidents can happen the school is right next to the freeway/feeder you would think it would be common sense bc not all teachers are strong enough to hold onto kids who are runners or try wandering off.Parent Review4y ago10 Reviews - Allen Academy

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBe aware as the Texas Voucher System moves forward that Allen will not entertain gifted autistic kids. Your child needs to be the perfect, shiny, easy child to teach. If they need anything that deviates from this, they are not allowed. They wasted my time, money, and declined my autistic son.As an aside- any monkey can teach the kids that they want to accept. It takes a true educator to teach ones that perhaps have a wrapper that make it more difficult. This will become the story of vouchers in Texas. The children with disabilities are awarded vouchers as they are in the first priority group and then the private schools decline them because they aren't perfect.Parent Review3mo ago19 Reviews
