Wouldn’t want him at any other elementary school. Wonderful school in all areas.Parent Review6y ago3 Reviews - South Lawn Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers don't care about the students. One year the long term substitute told the students that she was glad to not have to teach them any more and made some of the kids cry. The next year the teacher would read out the failing student's test scores in front of the class. The principal was no where to be found even after asking for a meeting about these incidents. Then in 2020 for remote learning, the math teacher would not grade for an entire month, so we never knew where our child was with their math comprehension. He also made aggressive notes on the student's homework. I have never had these issues with a school before in my life. There was even a teacher that told our kid that they should show up even if they were sick because the school gets $xx (I don't remember the exact figure) per student per day of attendance. That tells me that the management is telling this to teachers because it is an important measured metric to them. This school was always hostile towards the parents when the teacher was clearly in the wrong and the teachers were terrible. I'm glad we don't have to deal with dumpster fire of a school anymore.Parent Review4y ago3 Reviews - Bible Heritage School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI recently had the unfortunate experience of waiting for a tour at Amarillo Montessori, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment with the unprofessionalism I encountered.Upon arriving at the preschool, I was excited about the prospect of touring for my children. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned into frustration as I was left waiting for a staggering amount of time, with absolutely no communication regarding the delay. I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, but a simple gesture of informing me about the delay would have been a basic courtesy. Feeling increasingly impatient, I approached the front staff to inquire about the status of my interview. To my astonishment, not a single word was uttered in response. Instead, the staff stared at me blankly, and then exchanged perplexed glances with each other. The lack of communication and disregard for my time left me feeling disrespected and undervalued as a prospective parent.Further, the hallways had boxes scattered about, creating hazards and barriers to exit. When I rang the doorbell to enter, no one asked who I was or what I was doing there. They just buzzed me right on in. The lack of security is alarming. In any professional setting, clear and open communication is key, and it was disheartening to experience the complete absence of it at Amarillo Montessori. A simple apology or acknowledgment of the delay would have gone a long way in mitigating the frustration I felt.In light of this unprofessional conduct, I made the decision to leave without participating in the tour. A preschool that neglects to respect the time and concerns of prospective parents raises serious questions about its commitment to professionalism, childcare, and basic courtesy.I hope this review serves as constructive feedback for Amarillo Montessori to improve its communication and organizational practices in the future. As a full-time working mom, my time is valuable. I expect a higher standard of professionalism from any institution, especially one entrusted with the care and education of young children.Other Review2y ago5 Reviews
