Old Hickory

I’ve had a really good experience with my son at this school. We immigrated to the country a couple of years ago, and this was his first school here. He has grown so much, and we’ve never felt any discrimination for being immigrants. I truly recommend this school!

We have had a tremendous experience at DuPont Elementary! The teachers and staff are always willing to go the extra mile to support and grow the students. The school is a warm and welcoming environment where you see and feel the love that the teachers have for all of their students. The teachers are always very good about communicating and they have even randomly called to me to praise my child! In my previous experience, some schools only call when your child is in a trouble or there's a problem. It is such a good feeling to hear that my child is doing well and the teacher noticed. Just like every school, there has been a couple incidents of a conflict that have happened between my child and another student, but the teachers and principal have always responded quickly and been proactive with their plans to support students. The PTO is strong and active, and I love that parents are welcomed into the building to eat lunch with their child, help teachers with copies, and even treat the teachers and staff with a little snack or drink. We love this school and neighborhood very much and wish that the school didn't stop after 5th grade!

Dr. Kimberly Bullock, Executive Principal is truly what an educator should look like. She loves her students, her school, her staff, and her community. While the facility is old, she has made it inviting and advocated for it to be in the best condition possible.
