College Park

Honestly, this school is horrible and I seriously don't recommend. I just got out of 5th grade and I'm so relived. Behavior is insane, it is excused or not disciplined. Lunch is horrible, and kids randomly shout out inappropriate words even on the bus, not even 5th graders, little children! And it's not confronted nor fixed. The principal is also the worst, Mitchem only cares about sc ready test scores and scores in general, you can be on her good side but when you make a low score she's just rude even when you have manners. The only good thing about this school is that they treat kids with disabilities good, though they change the special needs teacher. A fight happened on the bus and the bus driver didn't even do anything, she even smiled when it happened. The assistant principal blamed the older student just because the other was younger even though the younger student started the fight. The same lessons are also repeated every week and they aren't even memorable. My entire 5th grade class was failing in math because one teacher didn't want to do her job, after many parents complained only then did the principals get on her. From my personal experience I don't recommend this school for anyone's child, a lot of things need to be changed and I'm glad I'm out of there.

My child has been going to this school for 4 years. It seems as if most students in her class every year are below average. Last year her teacher told me that if we wanted a conference I would have to request it. I didn't agree with that process at all but I did, 3 times, because I feel its necessary. My child dealt with being bullied last year as well and I was not at all happy with how the teacher handled it. I would not suggest moving into the area that will put your child at this school.

Awful school. Not only does it look bad on the outside, they have no organization on the inside. Staff is awful, misinformation given if any is given at all. It’s like pulling teeth to talk to the correct person. My kid did not thrive here at all and I’m not the only parent who feels this way as I’ve spoken to multiple.

This school has failed my daughter. Her second grade teacher was caught in lies in a meeting but yet the staff will support their teachers; even in their wrong and blame the students. This year for third grade, it’s starting off the same. We were at several meetings last school year and there is no accountability for the teachers. The student advocate is also a joke. She speaks well in front of parents but accused my child of lying when she was telling the truth based on what another student said. Pull the cameras as you did before. I’ve heard from many parents, many, who have pulled their child out of this school. My only mistake is that I didn’t do it sooner.

My son went here. He had a wonderful time and was surrounded by love and the love of learning. He learned so much and when he went to another school I noticed he was ahead of other students. He bloomed not only academically but also with his love of God. There was a child there that needed extra attention and had hit my child several times. The school stepped in quickly to protect my child and the others there. I knew my child felt safe once they stepped in as the others there child was removed.
