My daughter has been at JSM for three years, starting in 3K. We could not be happier, and I highly recommend it! She was reading at age 4 due to her phenomenal teacher. She loves going to school every day. The parent community here is special-engaged, uncompetitive, and dedicated to helping all kids receive an excellent education.

We love SASMS!!!! My daughter is in 2nd grade and has attended since kindergarten. She is excited to go each day, loves the engaging curriculum and special contests. I love how diverse the “special areas” are - she has art, music, stem, makers space, library, P.E, and second steps. Second steps focuses on emotional intelligence and understanding how other children are feeling. Her teachers each year have been unique and special. She is in classes with a children from diverse backgrounds, which is very important to us.The principal and assistant principal are engaged, and the PTA has great events, so you can meet other parents and feel a part of the community!

My child is in his second year at Stono Park. I have really appreciated Stono Park and found it to be an excellent school. It is obvious that the teachers and staff here work tirelessly to benefit the students and create a good environment. I am very, very impressed by how much they go above and beyond to do special things like the evening events with families (back to school wellness fair, Candyland themed math game night, around-the-world themed literacy night, student performances, board game night, bingo night, etc.). My child likes his teachers and class mates. On the first day of Kindergarten, he was so nervous (of course!), but on the first day of the next school year he bounced out of bed and exclaimed that he was excited for school! I have seen how being at Stono Park has helped him be excited for school.

This school may have good testing scores, and some of the staff likely are not the same as the others, which is what seems to be organically bitter and nasty.Most of my interactions from day one have been awkward and cold. I thought that I was singled out, until I had seen at least one other Mom treated, what seemed to be cold and rude by office staff.If we return here, it will be under the grounds of pure praying and hope that things will be different next year, and to not switch schools. Honestly though, I have had to talk my child into going to school this year more than I ever have because she doesn’t feel challenged or welcomed there for the most part.

Great school. Excellent teachers and the principal Mrs. Nancy is awesome! She is professional, caring and takes pride in her work. Definitely a wonderful learning environment for kids and teachers.

James Island Christian School is an excellent place for children to learn in a Christ centered environment. The teachers are awesome, supportive, and engaged. A high standard of character is expected at the school and the staff/administration does a good job up holding and enforcing that standard. The curriculum is challenging and engages the learning process.
