I went to Mt. Gallitzin Academy back in the late 60's, as my Father did back in the 30's. In my day... I was this || close to a life-guard certificate... when a hailstorm took down the glass roof over the pool. Look it up.And the things I learned there, that have served me throughout the rest of my years since... are patience, honesty and integrity.Where are Tom Murrin, Roy Ridgeway, Mike Manley, Dennis Webber... some of my class-mates... anyone remember Ron's last name (aka Effe Phuffufnick)?And something in the back of my brain is reminding me that Sister Mary Teresa (sp) was one of my favorite teachers.Frank Martin was the gym (and everything else) coach back then. He was a proud Native American. And he had also coached football when my cousin Ronnie was at Gallitzen (it was a family thing). So Ronnie took me to Frank's house one day, and Frank shared his rich heritage with me. I had no idea before that.Brings a tear to my eyes... reminiscing about those bygone days.

This school is a wonderful, family oriented, Christian based, environment for my children to thrive in there educational journey. The classroom is not only dedicated to the highest level of educational standards but is centered around respect and love for our children. Each teacher that my children have had throughout there time here have each had there own unique way of keeping my children focused on all aspects of the curriculum. One of my children also has some special needs related to an illness. And his need has always been made a priority without making it a focus on who he is. The children's safety is always kept. I'm so grateful that my children can have such a great leaning basis and also be able to stand each morning, afternoon and evening praising God! We are so blessed to be a part of the family at St John the Baptist School.
