NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal has been in this school system for 30+ years. Not only is she well respected by her peers and coworkers, she has an excellent reputation with the public. While still a teacher she was nominated for Teacher of the Year SEVERAL times. The school she was at before Emerson flourished under her and raised its scores. Before this principal, students were made to wait BY THE ROAD while parents parked up to 4BLOCKS surrounding the school. This caused traffic jams and parents were illegally parked. The new system has students safely off the road and cuts traffic in half! The pick-up system before took 40 MINUTES. Now it takes 15. The numbers assigned to each student go with each parent's car. This allows the workers to quickly identify the student's car and move traffic more quickly. Also, it lets the worker know if the student is getting in a safe car with the correct person. As for the not calling the students by name, there are 300 students in that school. You claim each teacher knows their students and so should the principal. This in itself is illogical OF COARSE the teacher knows her students. She only has 25 and spends EVERY DAY WITH THEM. The principal has 300 studentsOther Review12y ago5 Reviews - William Gay Early Education Center

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWilliam Gay is one of the best schools in McAlester. My son started out here in the Head Start 3 year old program and loved it! He is now there again this year for Pre-K. I could not ask for a better staff at a school. Every single teacher gets to know the children by name and also the needs of the children. Mrs. Cummings, the Principle is a very hands on person and is always up to date on what is going on in the school. The PTO is very active and involved also. The hold monthly meetings to keep the parents informed on what is going on with the school. Mrs. Pillow, the Secretary is the most amazing person ever. She helps hold the school together. She makes sure that all policies at the school are followed and that things run smoothly on a daily basis. William Gay has some of the most amazing teachers any parent could ask for. They really and truly care about our children and their individual needs. Keep up the great work!!!Parent Review14y ago1 Reviews - Parker Intermediate Center

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very disappointed and my son is lost. I set my son in totering for the AM and come to find out no one is there to help him with his math. Then three weeks later he comes home with a D. I called and left a number of messages with two of his teachers and asked them to please call or write me a note and for them to let me know whats going on with my son. No answers!! and now there not going to have it at all. When the school opened at Parker campuse. I went to meet and greet it was awful!! One teacher, all she could do is complain that the kids were loud in the hallways and they need to learn to keep there voices down. REALLY!! What about helping my son. No communication..Parent Review12y ago4 Reviews - Cornerstone Baptist Academy
