5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter started at this school in Kindergarten, and we had to relocate after her 1st month of 1st grade. The Kindergarten year went pretty well all around, but once she started 1st grade it was horrible. She came home sad almost everyday, and would only say that she had fun during recess. In Kindergarten she would talk about lots of different things she did and/or learned. In 1st grade, she would only talk about recess. I had NO communication from her teacher until 1 month after school started, and this was a phone call during which the teacher did nothing but complain about my daughter. This was with NO PRIOR COMMUNICATION about any issues going on. The principal did nothing. I learned from another parent that this teacher was putting my child out in the hall by herself as punishment, and that she would shame my daughter in front of the class. My daughter was also sent home on the wrong bus, because the teacher didn't check like she was supposed to. Luckily, the bus driver caught it and was able to meet up with the correct bus so my daughter could get home safely. I was very disappointed, especially since Kindergarten went well.Parent Review10y ago3 Reviews - Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI was just at the school today to enroll my daughter in school and study the staff at the front desk, questioning me. Why is the police officer questioning me about my daughter that she doesn't know? My daughter only been at the school when she was in pre-K and the officer is like who's your daughter and the environment at that school is not great. They need to shut the whole school down. The front desk experience is always horrible and I know this due to the fact people are rude. My daughter already been to the school before my oldest child and I always had a bad experience so I'm glad I didn't rope my daughter today for next year.Parent Review11mo ago6 Reviews - St. Nicholas School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSt. Nicholas is an awesome school with a wonderful principal who cares deeply for her students, their families and staff. The principal has brought in new technology such as iPads and their Catholic Identity is strong.Teacher Review11y ago16 Reviews - The Montessori School Of The Mahoning Valley

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere to start other than the fact my kid is assaulted by another student, principal blatantly tells myself and my husband our child is a burden and the teachers have called her as such because she preferred their company to the other kids, and she isn't welcomed back....but the kid who slapped her, and shoved her to the ground is. I've also tried getting in touch with them about my daughters things only for one of the supervisors of the school district to recommend I seek legal help because I can't get a simple email, call or anything back about my daughters personal possessions still there. That or take the police to the school. Would I recommend it, absolutely not. Better schools in the area, and I pity the high school that just signed on that principal.Parent Review11mo ago6 Reviews
