"Schiller Park is a great place to meet other dog owners and let your pooch play with other local dogs. There’s a nice group of people that meet almost nightly to let there dogs run and play together. "

"Due to construction, our neighborhood can be difficult to enter and exit at certain times of the day. Exits to our neighborhood have also been closed periodically. Many streets here are brick and uneven so you have to drive slow and cautiously. "

"Schiller Park is close by. There are always groups of dogs playing together. The lot sizes for are good compared to neighboring communities and most homes have a yard. The neighborhood is extremely dog friendly and pet owners clean up after their pets. "

"It is a wonderful community, neighborhood if people would just stop for a minute and say hello! We all live here, help one and other, we have raised our family here & want this area to thrive! Next generation.... keep paying forward! Karma is coming back from the day! If you don’t embrace it.... it will be lost.💕"

"While this area is rapidly improving, some of the foot traffic is still concerning. I wouldn’t go anywhere alone at night."

"This neighborhood is in between the ritzy German Village and low rent Southern Orchards. Its’ inhabitants are friendly. Foot traffic to and from Schiller Park includes residents from all surrounding neighborhoods. Our house was broken into once in the 3 years we lived here. Nice enough area but still city living. "

"We moved here a few years ago and love Merion Village - it's a lovely walking area with several parks, a wide range of restaurants, and it's gorgeous to sit on the front porch during the summer! It's easy to take the bus downtown to go to events. "

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went to this elementary school during his elementary years. He had excellent teachers and a very efficient principal, Mrs Archie. My husband and I enjoyed each assembly and was kept well aware of our son’s progress. I recommend any parent to enroll their child/children for a great and successful school year.Parent Review4y ago4 Reviews - Southwood Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children have attended Southwood since 2012. Since we have all developed a wonderful relationship with the teachers, staff, and principal. I can honestly say that the staff genuinely cares for each and every child. They are constantly going above and beyond any and all expectations to help the children and families. My youngest will be attending Southwood next year and to be honest I'm already sad our journey with Southwood will come to an end in a few years.Parent Review8y ago3 Reviews
